Complex kicks off their new City Cypher freestyle series with three of New York’s finest. In this debut episode, A$AP Ferg, Wiki of RATKING and Your Old Droog spit over live instrumentation by Grammy-nominated jazz artist Christian Scott.
In a uniquely candid conversation with VICE Autobiographies, A$AP Ferg talks about his father and how their relationship catalyzed his growth as an artist. VICE follows Ferg to Harlem to watch him express himself on canvas and in the studio.
Last year, Troy Ave and Joey Bada$$ got into a back and forth on twitter about whether Joey was an indie artist or not due to his three label deals. But Joey recently sent a shot at Troy Ave on his new single Ready, which then led to Troy Ave’s response with Badass. I’ll let you be the judge.
Joey Bada$$ returns with a vengeance as he takes shots at Brooklyn’s Troy Ave in a new diss record titled Ready. Produced by Statik Selektah.
Raury is constantly on the road so he penned his sentiments on a great new track called Home featuring Take A Daytrip. Home is where the heart is.
This past weekend, The Marley Brothers held their annual 9 Mile Music Festival in Miami where they brought together great artists such as Capleton, Protoje, Konshens, Mr. Cheeks, K Camp, Nas and of course a closing set by The Marley Brothers themselves. For me, Nas was what we were all anticipating to see. I want to say he hasn’t performed in Miami for years (despite club appearances), and his set overall was ill (no pun). DJ Bad was on the ones and twos as Nas lead the way performing his classic hits and even some throwbacks the crowd didn’t expect. Check out his entire set below and spread the love.
